Peppi was shown as a pet for about 2 years, she
won about 40 rosettes and 4 or 5 trophies, every where we went she won,
her personality was so strong and she loved every minute of the
attention. Peppi died in June 2004, Thumper died of a broken heart 3
weeks later.
However, by this time I had 2 other house pigs,
Pixie and Lucky, Pixie is a miss marked Black Himalayan and Lucky was a
crested Himalayan. The love for Himalayans had begun. Lucky died in
late 2005, but we still have Pixie, she lives in the shed with the an
old Chocolate Himalayan called Dixie.
I now breed Himalayans, Thanks to Pete Wardman
and Ted Brieley I have a really good start to my stock. This years
project is to get some Black Himalayan Crested’s going. It has taken me
a long time to obtain a Pink Eyed White Crested boar to start the
project, but he is with me now and I hope for the first generation to
be born around Easter 2007.
Late last year I breed 4 Beautiful Black
Himalayan Sow’s they are just old enough to show and are starting to
been seen out and about I am hoping they will do a lot of winning and
when they are older give me another generation that are good quality.
My other passion is Longhaired, I have at least
one of each longhaired breed in my shed but by far my favourites are
the Texel’s. Thank you to Peter Finn I
have got a very good base for me to start breeding my own line, I have
a few out crosses but the biggest part are from Peter.
Last year I breed a dark tri colour sow, I named
Beauty, she did really well for me and got very close to best in show 3
times, I was so proud of her, she is now in with her mum and a boar I
have breed hopefully creating me a next generation of beautiful babies.
At the moment I have 41 pigs in my stud, mainly
the Black Himalayans and Texel’s but I do have a few other breeds, they
can all be seen on the my pigs bit of the website.
Hope you enjoy the
website, Regards, Helen
